Araithuvitta Sambar Podi / Sambar Powder

11:04 PM

When it comes to making sambar with sambar podi, i always go for the homemade one. I got this recipe from my mom, who always makes a bucketful and stores ! It always comes in handy for other curries too ! Just add a spoonful and "tadaa" you can have a wonderful sambar...

Now to the recipe,

You Need:

Corriander seeds/dhania - 4 tbs
grated, dry coconut - 1/2 cup
channa dal - 2tbs
redchilli - 5
oil - 1/2 tsp

Method:

Heat oil in a pan, roast all the ingredients till golden brown.
Let it cool down completely.
Grind it into a fine powder.
Store it in a airtight container .

How to use:

Add the sambar powder to the cooked vegetables along with some water & tamarind juice. Bring to a boil. Serve hot with rice .
