Iam back with a delicious and yet a simple recipe to satisfy our chocolate cravings. This brownie can be whipped up in no time and can be served as a great dessert for a party .

Recently CSN stores contacted me asking if i'd like to host a giveaway for readers of Appetite Treats.

Ingredients : Makes 24 Pieces
  • 2/3 cup *self-raising flour
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 330 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnut pieces
Method :
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degree F. Grease a 8 x 12 in shallow baking tin and line with a parchement paper.
  2. Sift together the flour and cocoa powder, then add the sugar.
  3. Add in the butter, eggs and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  5. Spoon into the tin and smooth the surface.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Leave in the tin for 10 minutes, then turn onto a cooling rack.
  7. Dust with icing sugar and serve .

* Self-raising flour can be made by adding 2 teaspoons of baking powder to 1 cup of plain flour and then sifitng thoroughly several times.

Hints and Tips :
  • Line trays or tins with parchemant paper so that the paper extends over the two long sides, making it easier to lift the cooled brownies out of the tin to cut into slices.
  • The browines can be wrapped airtight and stored in the freezer for up to 2-3 months.
